Enterprise Engineering Approach for Business and Is/it Strategic Alignment

IS/IT strategies usually depend on a business strategy. The alignment between both strategies improves these strategic plans. Business and IS/IT alignment is the degree to which the strategy of IS / IT supports and is supported by the business strategy. This paper review the strategic alignment between business and IS/IT and propose to use enterprise engineering to achieve this alignment. Enterprise engineering approach allows defining a formal dialog in the alignment design. In these sense, new building blocks have been defined in order to be used in an enterprise architecture context. This proposal has been used in a critical process of a ceramic tile company with the purpose of align the strategic business plan for this process and IS/IT that are essentials to support this process.
